Prompt Engineering
Prompt engineering is the practice of writing and refining instructions so a language or image model produces more useful output.
Prompt engineering is a fancy name for giving a model better instructions.
For text models, that might mean adding context, examples, constraints, and a clear output format. For image models, it might mean describing the subject, style, lighting, composition, and what to avoid.
The phrase can sound grander than the work really is. Most of it is careful writing and fast feedback. If the output is wrong, vague, or overcooked, change the instruction and try again.
